Obituary of James Thomas Vize

James T. Vize, age 63, of Johnson Ave, Lake Placid, NY died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his home in Lake Placid. Mr. Vize was born August 1, 1948 in Closter, NJ. He was the son of the late James Thomas Vize, Sr. and the late Dorothea A. (Schattner) Vize. He was a graduate of Northern Valley Regional, Demarest, NJ, class of 1967 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Black Hill State College, Spearfish, SD, Class of 1971. In high school Jim was a member of the basketball team, soccer team and the track team, he held the school record for high jump for a period of time. He had worked at Jimmy's 21, Lake Placid, NY until November 2010. Mr. Vize was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Lake Placid, NY, a member of Craig Wood Golf and Country Club, Lake Placid, NY and the Hole in One Club at Craig Wood where he sunk his "hole in one" on # 17. He is survived by his wife: Mary E. (Coyle) "Jan" Vize, three sons: Brendan Vize of Lake Placid, NY, James T. Vize (Kirstyn Quinn) of Stowe, VT and Keegan Vize of Lake Placid, NY. He is also survived by two sisters, Sharon Nelson (Kenneth) of Barnegat, NJ, Florence Emmerson (Richard) of Mundelein, IL; one brother-in-law, John Scullion of Ortley Beach, NJ; his mother in law and father in law, John and Claire Coyle of Saranac Lake, NY; two nieces, six nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by his loving sister Ann D. Scullion. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 11 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home, 2310 Saranac Ave., Lake Placid, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 12th at 11:00 AM at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid, NY. Memorials may be made to High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., P.O.
