Catherine Louise (Maynard) Gonyea, 90, of Fawn Ridge Drive, Lake Placid, NY passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Gonyea was born April 5, 1925 in Lake Placid, the daughter of Milford and Olive (Winch) Maynard. She was the wife of Carl K. Gonyea. She was predeceased by her husband Carl K. Gonyea; three sisters, Maris, Alberta, and Eva as well as two brothers, James Henry and Eugene James. She was employed by Sterling Alaska Fur & Game Farm, Home of 1000 Animals, Lake Placid, NY as Sales Clerk and Manager. She is survived by her two sons, Carl R. Gonyea and his wife Karen of Lake Placid, NY and Wesley W. Gonyea and his wife Nancy of Wilmington, NY; four sisters, Betty Olney of Canfield, OH, Greta Wells, Barbara Wood and Beverly Manning all of Lake Placid, NY. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Stephanie Gates, Jennifer Call, Nadine Hathaway and Amber Gilligan; eight great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. There are no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 17th at 10:00 AM at the M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home, 2310 Saranac Ave., Lake Placid, NY with Pastor Jeff Gray officiating. Burial will follow in North Elba Cemetery.
