Please share a memory of Scott to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Scott Allen Whalley, 52, a resident of Wilmington, NY passed away unexpectently at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015. Scott was born on Oct. 15, 1963 in Saranac Lake, NY to a Donald E. Whalley and Barbara G. (Pasho) Whalley who are both deceased. Scott is survived by one sister, Nancy (Larry) Vincent and two nieces, Bethany Vincent and Amanda (Rob) League, all from New Hampshire. Three brothers, Thomas (Connie) Whalley of North Carolina; Peter (Sudha) Whalley of Pennsylvania; and Paul (Trixie) Whalley, and two nephews, Brandon (girlfriend Payton Barney) and AJ Whalley all from New York. Scott is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends from the US to Canada. Everyone will miss Scott greatly. Even with all of the challenges Scott had he managed to befriend many and loved everyone. He saw the good within everyone. Scott had resided in Lake Placid for many years with the support of an agency up until he came to live near us in Oct of 2012. Scott was a member of The Lake Placid Baptist Church, a volunteer for the Lake Placid Ambulance squad, and volunteered at Uhilein Mercy Center in Lake Placid. He loved his job at Price Chopper in Lake Placid where you would always get a hug from him on your way out. Scott always seemed to remember family's birthdays and family was a very important part of his life. He loved being with family during all of the holidays and on special trips. Whenever we went to the Great Escape in Lake George, Scott would ask to go with us. His favorite ride was the comet and then you have to wonder why because he was always praying for us to make it to the end. He just loved the company and food while he was there. Scott liked to fish, hunt, he loved animals, he loved playing and entertaining all of the small children in his life, and watching crime shows on TV whenever he could. He was a really good bowler and loved to be outside playing summer games with us. Scott was a strong believer in God and therefore he shared his faith about God to anyone he could and he served him well. Scott loved to fellowship with people especially at pot luck dinners. He was always participating in his church activities and helping others within a church. Scott will be remembered for his smile, sense of humor, willingness to help anyone, for his love to his family and friends, and for his faith in his Savior. There will be a memorial on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at 2pm. It will be held at the Lake Placid Baptist Church on Saranac Ave. in Lake Placid. There will be a fellowship dinner following the service downstairs. The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
