Jeannine M. LaFontaine, 81 of Champlain, NY passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 19, 2015. She was born in St. Bernard de Lacolle on June 5, 1934 the daughter of Euclid and Aurore Duquette. Jeannine was a stay at home Mom who loved her family. She was an avid cook, artist, and seamstress. She loved family gatherings and a good party. Jeannine had a great outlook on life and always looked to the better side of life's challenges. She was a member of the Court Lily of the Mohawks – Catholic Daughters of Champlain, NY for more than 50 years. Jeannine was also a member of St. Mary's Church in Champlain, NY. She is predeceased by her parents Euclid and Aurore Duquette, brothers Roland and Denis Duquette, sister Anita Gamache all of St. Bernard de Lacolle PQ and son Ronald LaFontaine. She is survived by her husband, Carl LaFontaine of 59 years who gave exceptional care to her during her long illness. She is also survived by two daughters; Roseline Babbie and her husband Alan of Dannemora, NY, Rachel Gaudette and her husband Jeff of Champlain, two sons; Richard LaFontaine and his wife Diane, James LaFontaine and his companion Brigitte Lussier of Champlain, NY; her grandchildren Alexander Babbie and his wife Jennifer of Dannemora, NY, Zachary Babbie and his wife Dawn of Dannemora, NY, Danielle Ashline and her husband Jeremy of Rouses Point, NY, Shawn LaFontaine and his wife Emily of Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, TX, Kylie and Kelsey LaFontaine of Plattsburgh, NY and Austin and Connor Gaudette of Champlain, NY; great grandchildren Isaac and Logan Ashline of Rouses Point, NY Aria Babbie of Dannemora, NY, Renee Jeannine LaFontaine soon to be born to Shawn and Emily LaFontaine, Del Rio, TX. She is also survived by a brother-in-law Normand Gamache, and sister-in-law Giselle Guay-Duquette, and her aunt Agathe Duquette, and her uncle Marcel Duquette. A special thank you to the medical team and staff at Hudson Headwaters in Champlain; especially Dr. Maurice Racine and Melissa Gooley. We also want to thank Becky and Michelle of Hospice of the North Country for the care they gave to Jeannine. A very special thank you to Reginald, Patricia, Michael LaFontaine and Aline Bedard for all the help during her illness. Calling hours will be Monday, December 21st from 4 to 7 p.m. at the M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22nd at St. Mary's Church in Champlain, NY with Reverend Clyde A.
