Obituary of Malcolm Herbert Shene

Malcolm Herbert Shene, age 84, of Vermontville died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Kindred Nursing & Rehab, Braintree of Braintree, MA. Mr. Shene was born May 17, 1931 in Vermontville, NY. He is the son of the late Herbert E. and the late Florence (Aubin) Shene. He was a graduate of Saranac Lake High School and Eastern Nazarene College. He was an Elementary Teacher at Peru Central School, Peru, NY and had worked at Nazarene College before retiring. He was an accomplished wood carver and artist and loved painting and the fine art of wood carving. He is survived by two daughters: Kathy Glatz and her husband Donald of West Milford, NJ, Christine Davies and her husband Karl of Boonville, IN; Brother of three sisters: Bertha Sawyer of Vermontville, NY, Elliody Bickford of Vermontville, NY, Laurel Giddings of Vermontville, NY and three brothers: Garry Shene and his companion Lorraine Manning of Bloomingdale, NY, Claude Shene and his wife Kay of Lake Clear, NY, Almon Shene and his wife Lorna of Vermontville, NY; A sister in-law Peggy Shene and a special Nephew, Warren Bickford and several other nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Carl Shene. A graveside service will be held at a later date to be announced at Union Cemetery, Vermontville, NY. The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
