Obituary of Margaret Viens

Margaret Viens, 89, of Eden Lane, Champlain passed away in the early morning of Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility in Plattsburgh. She was born in Yonkers, NY, July 27, 1926, a daughter of the late Ernest and Frances (Morrisey) Maher. Margaret lived in Richford, Vermont before relocating to Montreal, Quebec and eventually residing in Champlain, NY since the year 1976. She married Regis Viens on November 9, 1946. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Champlain and was a former member of Woodmen of the World, the Lothian Club and the Catholic Daughters of America. Her loving family includes her son Brian Viens and wife Joanne of Lachine, Quebec, her daughter Valerie Wiley and husband, Gary of Suffolk, VA, grandchildren Christine, James, Nicole and Kaleigh, and siblings James, Eugene, Edmund and Ellen. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Regis Viens. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21st. at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the calling hours at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church Street, Champlain NY with Rev. Adrian Gallagher, celebrating the mass. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery on Church Street.
