Rose Favreau, 82, of Route 276, Champlain passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on April 27th with her children by her side. Rose was born June 24, 1933 in Champlain New York to William E. and Corine A. (Fish) Coache. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1951. She married her high school sweetheart, Arsen Favreau on February 20, 1954. They were married for 45 years before his passing in 1999. Rose was a dedicated mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She will be remembered for her positive attitude and outlook. She was extremely independent and self-reliant. Many in the community remember Rose from her nearly 40 years at Key Bank. Since her retirement she has spent countless hours crocheting lap robes for the veterans at the VA hospital in Albany. Through the years she has also knitted hats and mittens for the Mission Center in Champlain and various handmade items for family and friends. Rose also liked to travel the North Country and New England with her close friends, enjoying lunch and local attractions. She is survived by her one son and daughter in law, William A. "Bill" and Connie Favreau of Plattsburgh and their children Mallory Favreau and Nicolas Favreau. She is also survived by one daughter and son in law, Julie and Bernard "Bud" Spencer also of Plattsburgh. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband and her one sibling, Loretta McCarthy. The family would like to express special appreciation to the excellent caregivers who provided support and attention to their mother in the final months of her life. Calling Hours will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM this evening, Friday, April 29, 2016 at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church Street, Champlain with Rev. Clyde A. Lewis, pastor, celebrating the mass. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens on Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh.
