Stephen John LaHart passed away Monday, September 19th, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital after a hard-fought battle with ALS. Steve was born November 10, 1952 in Lake Placid, the son of Jack and Joan LaHart. He graduated from Lake Placid High School in 1971 and remained a lifelong resident. Throughout the years you may have seen Steve on the tennis court, ski slope, driving range or golf course. He had many different careers over his lifetime including working in the family business Upstate Vending, waiting table at various local restaurants, self employed enterprises and his last as a long haul truck driver. Steve is survived by his much loved sons James and Ian LaHart, sisters Susan (Wenzell) Hayes, Lisa (George) Spence, Linda (Scott) Benty, brothers William and Russell, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. Calling hours will be held Friday, September 23rd from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the M.B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. Burial will immediately follow at the St. Agnes Cemetery. Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate.
