Rouses Point Harold D. "Bud" Ashline, Jr., 87, of Lake Street, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 8, 2012. He was born in Rouses Point September 3, 1925, son of the late Harold D. and Ethel (Jerry) Ashline, Sr. Bud married the former Eileen M. Hogan at St. Jean Eudes Church in Mackayville (St. Hubert), Quebec on June 25, 1955 and was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point. Bud was employed with the US Postal Service in Rouses Point for 41 years. He was a WWII veteran having served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 912 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 8722. Bud was well known in the community and spent many of his retirement years assisting local organizations with their fund raising activities, receiving many awards in recognition of his efforts. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eileen of Rouses Point, three sons, John Ashline and wife Phyllis of Lancaster, PA, Keith Ashline and companion Francella Wilson of Rouses Point, and Harold D. "Hap" Ashline, III of Rouses Point, one daughter, Kathy Goyette and husband Mark of Rouses Point, two sisters Mary Barge of Edgewater, MD and Edna Ashline of Annapolis, MD, two granddaughters Heather Ashline of Lancaster, PA and Ashley Goyette of Philadelphia, PA, and one grandson, David Ashline of Pittsburgh, PA. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Richard Ashline, and two sisters, Jean Harrison and Carolyn Wigderson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Patrick's Church, Lake St., Rouses Point, NY. Interment will follow mass in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mason Rd., Coopersville, with full military honors. Members of the American Legion Post 912 are asked to meet at 10:15 am on Saturday at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 148 Lake St., Rouses Point, NY. Donations in Bud's memory may be made to Montgomery Hose, Hook and Ladder Co., PO Box 185, Rouses Point, NY 12979.
