Champlain Pauline J. Gooley, 78, of 92 Perry Mills Road, Champlain, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born January 25, 1935, a daughter of the late Napoleon "Paul" and Catherine "Ida" (Besaw) Couture. Pauline was originally from Plattsburgh and attended schools in that area. She married Gerald R. Gooley of Champlain, June 7, 1952 and the couple resided in Champlain where they raised their family. Pauline was a wonderfully caring individual who always had a warm smile and comforting words for everyone she knew. Her children were here pride and joy and were always put before all else. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who's, greatest joy was to spend time with her family, whom she adored. She enjoyed cooking and helping others, always placing everyone else's needs before her own. Pauline had a huge heart and will always be remembered for her loving demeanor and her beautiful smile. She will be sadly missed by all of those whose lives' she's touched. Her loving family includes her children Susan Boas and long-time companion Edwin Marrero of Springfield, MA, Michael Gooley and wife Ellen of Zephyrhills, FL, and Denise Parish and husband Bradley of Plattsburgh. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and her siblings, Pauline was predeceased by her husband Gerald R. Gooley on July 4, 1999 and by her son, Gerald P. Gooley on January 23, 2013. A Calling Hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Saturday, January 9, 2013 at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm St., Champlain, NY 12919. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am on Saturday at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church St., Champlain, NY. Interment will be at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Oak St., Champlain. Contributions in Pauline's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or to St. Mary's Church.
