Arthur Raymond Keddy, 87, of Farmington, NY, formerly of Champlain, NY passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua, NY. He was born in Colonie, NY September 27, 1925, son of the late Raymond and Olive (Stewart) Keddy. Arthur was a longtime resident of Champlain, NY. He resided in Hornell and Farmington, NY over the years as well. He was previously married to Genevieve Hough, of Bath NY. Arthur was predeceased by his loving companion, Betty Babbie, Champlain, NY He is survived by daughters: Shirley (David) VerStraete, of Farmington, NY and Nancy (Donald) Scott, of Raleigh, NC, his step-Children: Bonnie (David) Rabideau of W. Chazy, Sally (Todd) Jarvis, of Champlain, Penny (Larry Ebere) Castine of Plattsburgh and Frenchie (Connie) Babbie of Ellenberg Depot, NY, his grandchildren, Shawn (Amy) Keddy, Michael (Giselle) Russ, Raymond Grooms, and Michelle (Wes) Brown, and grandchildren of his loving companion Betty Babbie. He is also survived by great-grandchildren in Plattsburgh/Champlain, Rochester and Bethlehem PA areas. Arthur served in the Navy 1942-1946 on the USS Midway, was employed by City of Hornell and was very active in the American Legion #0767, Champlain, NY. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing and camping and loved to play Bingo and cards, especially Skip-bo. Papa was well known for his side pork and fried potatoes on the cast iron griddle at Feinberg Park in Altona, NY where he camped for many years. Calling hours will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Sunday, Feb 24th at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm St., Champlain, NY followed by a Prayer Service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center 350 Parrish St. Canandaigua, NY 14424.
