JAMES T. BEANEY Jim was born in Lake Placid, NY on December 29th, 1961 to Robert and Mattie (Erno) Beaney. He left us on January 23rd, 2022. Jim attended Lake Placid Central School. He worked at the North Elba Cemetery, Country Kitchen, the Palace Theater, Holiday Harbor Bar & Nightclub (you might remember Roadblock at their door!), the Bobrun, Lamb Lumber, then later retired from LPHS. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball for Jimmy, being one of two male Girl Scouts in Tara's troop, good live music (805, Orleans, etc) and dancing at Freddie's Inn. He married the love of his life Julie Gonyea on June 25th, 1983 and they raised their family together in Lake Placid. His wife and kids meant the world to him and they spent time together camping, fishing, and enjoyed trips to flea markets and watching auctions. He was a great husband, father and papa and would do anything for his family. Jim and his grandson Julius shared many hobbies including collecting coins and jewelry, listening to classic rock, watching MASH, and playing countless hands of cards. Jim is survived by his wife Julie, daughter Tara, son Jimmy (Whitney), and beloved grandson Julius who was the apple of his eye. He is also leaving behind two brothers, Phil (Amy) and Donald both of Lake Placid, one sister Lynda of Keyport NJ, several nieces and nephews, and his close circle of real friends. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at M B Clark funeral home in Lake Placid on Saturday, January 29th 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. The family asks you to bring your best memories and stories to share. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to LPVAS or SLVAS in Jim's memory for all they did to help.
