Charles (Red) Harvey, 87, of Champlain passed away peacefully Sunday April 16, 2023 at UVM-CVPH Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born October 24, 1935, to the late Frank and Lena (Brunelle) Harvey. After graduation from Chazy Central Rural School in 1955, Charles enlisted in the U. S. Army. The highlight of his military service was being stationed in Germany. On April 12, 1958, he married his best friend and soul-mate, Jacqueline Supernant of Champlain. Charles was employed at Sheridan Iron Works in Champlain prior to entering the NYS Department of Corrections in 1963, retiring in 1990. Upon retirement, Red and Jackie traveled throughout the United States in their motorhome. They also enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, and boating, but time spent with family was their greatest joy. Charles was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lena Harvey, his loving wife Jacqueline, brothers Harold and Francis, and sister Betty Pombrio. Charles leaves behind four children, Kevin (Toni) Harvey, Mary Lou (Dan) Todd, Dawn (Robert) Collins, and Dean (Sally) Harvey. Also, his grandchildren Jamie Martin, Shawn Hicks, Scott LaPointe, Ryan Harvey, Danae Todd, Rachael Jolicoeur, Whitney Asher, David Todd, and Ryan Collins. Charles was blessed with ten great-grandchildren along with many nieces & nephews. He also had a special nephew, Calvin Harvey, whom he thought of as a brother. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 22 at M. B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, NY, followed by a reception at the VFW Post 125, 116 Boynton Ave., Plattsburgh, NY.
