Obituary of Patricia Preston

Patricia Preston, 82, of Fawn Ridge Drive, Lake Placid, NY passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid, where she had been a resident since November, 2023. Pat was born in Malone, NY April 15, 1942 the daughter of Madore and Lena (Schenk) Lamica and moved to Lake Placid when she was 5 years old. Pat was married 61 years to her loving husband Austin "Chappy" Preston. Pat was a graduate of Lake Placid High School. She worked as Site Director for the Lake Placid Senior Center and received recognition for her 26 years of service to the Lake Placid and Town of North Elba. Pat Started as a cook for the seniors in 1976 and she was recognized by the Program Director of the Nutrition Program for the Elderly for her many years of service. She also received the Golden Hug Award form the Director of the Office of the Aging for the great job she did. Pat and Chappy loved the many family dogs they had. She loved birds and bird watching. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and was a choir member for 20 years, she was Eucharistic Minister at St. Agnes and twice elected to the Parish Council, she was Chairperson of the Christmas Bizarre for St. Agnes for 6 years, and was a dedicated member of the Catholic Daughters. Patricia is survived by her husband Chappy; One brother, Gary Lamica and his wife Alice and their two daughters Chrissy and Tammy. Pat is also survived by her dear friend Shirley Hence. Calling Hours will be held Sunday March 2nd form 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday March 3rd at 11:00am at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in May. Rev.
