Obituary of Virginia J. Warrington

After a long life, Virginia J. Warrington passed peacefully at home on April 19, 2025 to be reunited at last with her husband and family. She was born in Lake Placid, April 29, 1937 and was the sixth of seven children to Donald and Charlotte Jacques. Virginia married Craig Warrington September 21, 1957. Virginia graduated from Lake Placid Central School in 1956. She was employed by the Bank of Lake Placid which later became NBT Bank. Virginia is survived by her children: Nancy (Ron) Opperman, Debra (Chris) Preston and Gary (Patty) Warrington. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Cortney (Lee) Jopling, Morgan (Justin) Gallo, Kyle (Jennifer) Opperman, Olivia Annarino, Molly (Anthony) Constanza, Grace Warrington, and her 10 great grandchildren Hunter, James, Jackson, Calia, Quinn, Craig, Harper, Myla, Noah and Owen. Virginia is also survived by two sister-in-law's, Joy Conway and Joyce Jacques along with many cousins, nieces and nephews including her god daughters Margaret (Robbie) Milhill and Kerri Lynn Preston. Virginia had a special place in her heart for her two great grand dogs, Bennett and Placid, who lived with her for a year. She was predeceased by her loving husband Craig of 37 years, and her six brothers and sisters- Connie, Janet, Betty, Ellis, Donald and June. Virginia led a life of service by volunteering for countless community organizations and events, including Order of the Eastern Stars, President and Treasurer of LPCS PTA, member of BPW, Cub Scout den mother/leader, and Alumni Association Treasurer. She also volunteered for the Garden Club, Ironman, Relay for Life, numerous ORDA events, March of Dimes, Cancer Daffodil sales, Elderwood (Uhlien Mercy Center greenhouse) and she loved reading with the students at the Elementary School. Virginia was a lifelong member of the Adirondack Community Church where she served on the Trustee Board and was Treasurer. She also volunteered during Vacation Bible School and the women's organization. The M.B. Clark, Inc Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements. A funeral service will be held on May 3, at 11:00 am at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid, NY. Calling hours will be held on May 2, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. The burial will be at the North Elba Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
