Leola Fredericks, 102 of Gabriels and Lake Placid, NY passed away April 22,2025 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid. She was born January 30,1923 to Frank Alexander, Jr. and Julia (Wells) Alexander.
She worked at the Swiss Shop in Lake Placid for many years, then went to work at Altman's in Saranac Lake before retiring. She loved to knit, making hats and mittens for North Elba Christmas charity.
Leola married Leon Fredericks, Sr. in 1940, celebrating 53 years of marriage prior to his death April 13, 1994.
Leola was also predeceased by daughter Kathleen DeMaro, grandchildren Shellie Fredericks and Travis Tripi.
She is survived by her son Leon (Denice) Fredericks of Lake Placid, NY, grandchildren Cheri (Max) Lyon of Lake Placid, NY Shawn Fredericks of Lake Placid, NY Jamie DeMaro of Arizona, Lisa Preston of Lake Placid, NY and several great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers please direct donations in her memory to a charity of your choice.
There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Gabriels NY at family's convenience. Rev. Martin Weitz will officiate.
