Keene, NY
Arlene Ann "Foozy" (Jaquish) LeClair passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Elderwood of Lake Placid with her daughters at her side.
Foozy was proud to be a Keene Native although she spent her first few days of life in Onondaga, NY, where she was born on September 11,1935 to Casper "Buck" Jaquish and Helen (Staats) Jaquish.
After attending Keene Central School, she married another Keene Native, Paul A. LeClair on October 30,1954. They remained in Keene where they raised their 4 daughters; Darlene (Larry Moulton) LeClair, Charlotte (Michael) Gonyea, Brenda LeClair and Ellen (Michael) Estes.
Foozy devoted her first 20 years of marriage to being a housewife and stay at home mom. Following this phase of her life she was employed by the AuSable Mountain Reserve for many years.
Prior to Foozy's mobility issues, she could be spotted around town walking miles and miles every day. When she wasn't walking, she enjoyed reading, watching "her shows", her kitties and visiting with family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and her only sibling, her sister Sally Snow.
She is survived by her 4 daughters, 5 grandsons; Paul Auer, Mitchell (Amber) Estes, Jerrid Gonyea, Mikie (Jami) Gonyea and Ryan (Melissa) Estes, along with her beloved great grandchildren; Austin Auer, Tyler Gonyea, Nora Gonyea, Bennette Estes, Keeley Auer, Liam Estes, Brantley Gonyea, Liam Gonyea, Bryleigh Gonyea and Isabelle Gonyea.
A private burial will be held by the family at their convenience.
