Alice Marion (Sears) Day passed away Wednesday, May 6th,2026 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid. She was a 4th generation Lake Placid, NY native, born October, 11th, 1938 the daughter of Roland E. Sears and Aileen (Hanson) Sears. Alice graduated from Lake Placid High School, class of 1956. Following graduation, she attended nursing school in Montreal, Canada at Royal Victoria Hospital, where she made many lifelong friends, and graduated in 1959.

She then returned to Lake Placid where she married Thomas Day of Delmar, NY, had 3 children Leslie, Tom, and Terry and worked for over 45 years as an Registered Nurse at Placid Memorial Hospital and later Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. She worked her whole life taking care of other people. Alice was also a giving person who tried to help where ever she could.

After retirement, Alice became an avid golfer and spent many summer days at Craig Wood playing the game she loved and enjoying the great outdoors. In her earlier years, she was in several bowling leagues with family and friends. She was a member of the American Legion Woman's Auxiliary, Post 326 Lake Placid, NY.

Alice's biggest love was family and extended family. She always looked forward to holiday dinners at her house. Everyone was always welcome. She was known for baking Christmas cookies for family, friends and coworkers.

Alice is survived by her sons Thomas (Patty) Day and Terrance Day, her daughter in law Sheryl Eddy, granddaughter Kailee Day, special cousins Ed (Roberta) Decker and Margaret Decker who were always there for her, close friends Ed and Paul Cassot who she considered "little brothers", lifelong friend Carol Brown and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alice was predeceased by her parents Roland and Aileen Sears, her brothers Rolly and Robert Sears, her daughter Leslie Day and dear friend Catherine (Mimo) Sponable.

Calling hours will be held at the M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Monday May 11th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a American Legion Woman's Auxiliary Prayer service at 6:45 pm.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday May 12th at 12:00 noon at the M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery. Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate.
