It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the

Passing of John George Gagnon, 62, of Lake Placid NY. He passed away

peacefully on July, 16 2026, with his beloved niece Monaca by his side.

Born on January, 28th 1964, in Palisades Park, New Jersey, John was the

son of Edward and Mary Gagnon. When John was 14, he moved to Lake

Placid and instantly developed a deep, abiding passion for the great

outdoors.

Whether casting a line at dawn or dusk on the Ausable River,

local lakes, or Salmon River in Pulaski, NY, patiently waiting in a tree stand

on a crisp Autumn morning, or behind a duck blind on opening day. John

was most at home in nature. He loved to teach the sport to anyone he

could, especially his children and nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as an

avid fisherman and skilled hunter who knew the local woods and waters in the

Adirondacks, and Pulaski, NY like the back of his hand. But for John, the

thrill of the catch or the harvest was never the only goal. It was the peace and

quiet of a sunrise on the lake or river, the camaraderie shared around a campfire,

and generations of friends and family he taught to respect and appreciate the land.

He lived for the stories told after a long day of fishing or hunting, and was always

eager to share his knowledge and love of the outdoors with anyone who was willing to listen.

John brought that same patience, focus, and quiet strength into every

aspect of his life. He was a devoted father, uncle, brother, son, cousin,

friend, and nephew who always put his family first. He will be deeply

missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him.

John is survived by his children; Samantha Gagnon (Tennesee), and Ryder

Gagnon(Lake Placid). He also leaves behind his siblings Julia Corrow,

Mark Borden(Karen), and Jodi Gagnon, his Aunt Shirley Allen(Rip), Nieces

Monaca Corrow(Michael Tyler) and Melissa Murphy(Daniel), great

nephews Scott Michael Sharlow, Hunter Trombley, Carter Sharlow, Ian

Murphy, and Brennan Murphy, and great niece Emilya Tyler. As well as

many cousins, and countless friends who meant the world to him especially

Richard Barney, Alex Hudson, and Diane Lewis who were like family to

him. He was predeceased in death by his parents Edward Gagnon and Mary

Gagnon, and his brother in Law and best friend Michael Corrow.

Family and Friends are invited to celebrate his life and share their favorite

memories of John on Wednesday July 22, 2026 from 5-7pm at MB Clark

Funeral home in Lake Placid.
