Jean C. Rosen, formerly of Scranton, PA, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2018 at Elderwood Uihlein Living Center, Lake Placid, NY.
Jean was born August 5, 1929 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Fred and Augusta Blauthe Cross. She was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and was married to her husband of 69 years, Robert W. Rosen. She was a former member of St. Paul's Methodist Church, a homemaker, and former Girl Scout leader. Over the years, she and her husband loved traveling in their motor home, camping, and playing cards. Prior to their moving to the Adirondacks in fall, 2015, she played Mahjong weekly with her friends.
In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by one daughter, June Rosen Fava, Reading, PA, two sons, Robert (Marilyn) Rosen, Jay, NY, and Bruce (Margaret) Rosen, Oxford, PA., as well as seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Robert, and Jack Cross, four sisters, Dorothy Byron, Gladys Noll, Romayne Moessner, Evelyn Andiario, and one granddaughter, Kim Fava Wagner.
A memorial service will be held in Scranton at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of Mercy, Uihlein Living Center, Lake Placid, NY 12946.
