Obituary of Bonnie J. Watson

BONNIE JEAN (WOODWARD) WATSON Bonnie Jean Watson passed away peacefully December 24th after a long illness. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on a hot summer day, July 25, 1950, the daughter of the late Robert and Barbara (Bromley) Woodward. The sixth of eight children, she was the first redhead among a family of brunettes, but not the last when her red-headed brother Scott was born five years later. She was her father's baby girl who he affectionately called Emma and teased her endlessly about her freckles. Bonnie was spunky, fiercely loyal, and independent. She was also very dedicated to the tasks in front of her, and a hard worker whether it was school, raising her children, caring for her disabled husband or tending to her patients as a nursing assistant. Her life did not afford her much leisure time, but when she had time she loved to go for rides in her car and visit with her beloved grandsons. Bonnie was a graduate of Peru Central School, Class of 1969, and worked for more than 20 years as a nursing assistant at Adirondack Medical Center before retiring three years ago due to health reasons. Married to her first husband at age 20, she lived in Puerto Rico where he was stationed with the Air Force. Once discharged from the military, they settled in Pennsylvania where her sons were born. After the marriage dissolved, she moved to Lake Placid in 1980 to be closer to family. Bonnie met and married Raymond (Che Che) Watson on August 29, 1987 in Lake Placid. Although Ray became disabled early in their marriage, they were lovingly dedicated to each other and enjoyed several years together. Ray also became the loving father to Bonnie's sons. Bonnie is survived by her two sons, Chad (Marcia) Flyte of Jay, NY and Terry (Bly) Flyte of Lake Placid. She is also survived by her three grandsons who were the light and love of her life, Nathanial, Chase and Ridge Flyte of Lake Placid. Bonnie is also survived by her sister, Cheryl Breen Randall and her husband Craig of Lake Placid, and four brothers, Frank (Kathy) Woodward of Plattsburgh, NY, Robert (Gloria) Woodward of Albany, NY, Barnard (Sue) Woodward of Murrieta, CA and Todd (Denise) Woodward of St. Albans, VT. Seven nephews and four nieces also survive as well as many cousins. Besides her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Watson, her sister, Beverley Sprague, and brother, Scott Woodward. Calling hours will be held Monday, December 30th at 6 p.m. at M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY followed by a Prayer service at 7 p.m. Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The M. B.
