Leslie Ann Moquin At 12:02 a.m. Saturday, January 23rd the world lost one of its finest human beings; Leslie Ann Moquin, age 63 passed away at home with family by her side. Born March 6th,1957 in Plattsburgh, NY to Armand and Maureen Moquin (Shapter). She graduated from Beekmantown Central High School anxious to start her journey through life. Her passion for "everything" skiing held no boundaries and she could be seen chasing ski lifts with her sister well into May. She was a true nature girl who loved to camp, kayak, fish and hike while expertly identifying plants and birds along the way. Covid has changed and limited us all, but she managed to hike and ski on May 2nd, kayak camp on Lower Saranac Lake and lived out of a van with her sister for 3 weeks traveling throughout southern Utah's incredible canyons in October. Leslie touched everyone she met with her gentle, genuine giving soul. She enjoyed live music and will be missed twirling around on the dance floor with her friends and family. Before making her move back to the North Country where her spirit had always lived, Leslie worked at AIM Services in Saratoga Springs as a Personal Funds Accountant for 20 years. To quote her manager Scott, "she dedicated her career to making sure the folks received all funding they had coming from Social Security and that they were properly accounted for. Leslie did not hesitate to hold anyone accountable, dedicated, ethical and exact are just a few words voiced to describe her character." Her spirituality did not go unnoticed by Scott who coined her the nickname "Snow Queen of the Great White North." Throughout her 14 year battle with breast cancer, Leslie's continued positive attitude and infectious smile were undeniable. Leslie is survived by her father Armand, sister Laurie and brother-in-law Eric, dearly loved nephews Karl and Scott and last but certainly not least her soul mate Bob Rose. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. A celebration of Leslie's life will be announced at an appropriate time in the future. Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in Leslie's honor may do so at www.adirondackwildlife.org or www.adirondacklandtrust.org. Many of us can still hear Leslie say "BYE FOR NOW".
