Obituary of Elizabeth M. Higgins

Elizabeth "Liz" Marie Higgins, age 82, of Lake Placid, NY passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at her home with her loved ones by her side. Mrs. Higgins was born August 26, 1930 in Lyon Mountain, NY. She is the daughter of Joseph "Lee" and the late Beatrice "Bea" (Garno) Gregory. Liz worked at Keene Valley Hospital and was a caregiver right up until her illness. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick Higgins, her parents, Joseph and Beatrice Gregory and a brother Edward Gregory. Liz is survived by two daughters, Meredith Demdrosky of Keene, NY and Geraldine "Gerry" Higgins and her companion Greg Jacques of Lake Placid, NY; two brothers, Lowe Gregory and his wife Joan of Keene, NY and Leonard Gregory of Farmington, CT; four sisters, Lucile Spanilo of Westbrook, CT, Frances Placenia and her husband Ralph of Atkins, VA, Melissa Wells and her husband Kent of Keene, NY, and Teresa Simoneau and her husband Robert of Londonderry, NH. She is also survived bytwo grandchildren, Natalie Buysse and her husband Michael of Keene Valley, NY, Natasha Dembrosky and her companion Matthew Pittman of Lake Placid, NY; two great grandchildren, Hunter Buysse of Keene Valley, NY and Haylie Buysse of Keene Valley, NY and several nieces, nephews and her Chocolate Lab Maddie of Lake Placid, NY. There are no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
