I am thankful for being part of the "array of interesting people" in Fred's life and that his memory is part of mine.

Fred marched to the beat of a different drummer. As the Lake Placid reporter for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise between 1977-1981, I covered some of Fred's tenure on the Lake Placid school board. His exchanges with Shirley Seney, another school board member, were most entertaining. He gained my respect for his wit, intelligence, his ability to quickly simplify the complex issues facing the school board and his unwillingness to accept the status quo. My deepest sympathies to the family.

I got to know Fred better when I was on the Board of Assessment
Review. When he came in to visit, he was helpful , and most of all, colorful and fun to listen to.

I worked for Fred S. Dennin on two occasions. The first one was when I moved to Lake Placid and he hired me to replace his secretary who was on maternity leave. French is my native language and my spoken English was definitely in need of some improvement. A few days into the job, Mr. Dennin asked me to refer to him as "lawyer" rather than as "liar", as long as he was signing my paycheck. I did not even notice a difference in the pronounciation of those two words at that time. I have improved much since then as I am a certified French/English court interpreter listed in the National Court Interpreters Database (NCID).
All my condoleances to Mrs. Denning and to the entire family.

I will always remember Fred for his calm and generous nature and his ability to clearly articulate his stances on just about any issue. He was able to find the positive in just about any situation, especially relating to his family. I most enjoyed watching and talking tennis with him, discussing who was going to win and why. I am comforted in knowing his influence will live on in his children and grandchildren as will his many stories and experiences. Rest in peace Fred, you will be missed. Much love, Michelle.

I will always remember Mr. Dennin for his love of humanity and his devotion to making the world a better place. In the mid 80's in the law office I was signing divorce papers. My marriage was ending and when it was all finished he said he was leaving the room and that my now former husband and I were to stay in the room as long as needed until we were both able to leave in peace. He ackowledge that there is no room for bitterness and that love makes the world go round. I have never forgotton this. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family and the community of Lake Placid as you celebrate the life of a wonderful person. Rest in peace.
