many fond memories of Cascade and Sir Arthur and his merry entourage. A life well lived. A man like him should have lived forever.

Hi Jen, Art, Ken. I am sorry for the loss of your father. I greatly enjoyed the hospitality over at the ski center and chatting with Art about life and times in Placid. The full moon parties and skiing are legendary. I learned a lot about Art upon reading his obituary. He was obviously a wonderful father and member of the community.

Q: What will you never forget about Arthur?
A: Jennifer et al - Our condolences to you and all the family! I regret that I will not be able to attend any of the services for Art, as I had a new hip installed yesterday.
One memory I will never forget was the ski-thru trip from Tahawus to Lake Placid. Art organized this trip with little fanfare and suggested that if I wanted to participate I was to just meet at Cascade Ski Center the next day and that I only needed my ski equipment - everything else would be taken care of. I arrived to find a waiting school bus to take us to Tahawus - with a good supply of hot chocolate. It was a typical cold winter day with excellent ski conditions. As we made our way to our rendezvous at Lake Colden, I questioned - what are we going to do for lunch? Never fear! As we approached, I could see that a keg of beer had been towed in by the Jubin boys and friends. In the distance, we could hear an airplane approaching and I realized Art was having lunch delivered. A large parcel was parachuted from the airplane, a campfire was prepared and soon steaks were sizzling in the cast iron pans with all the accoutrements. A great time was had by all as we then skied merrily back to Lake Placid. Many thanks to Art for a day I'll never forget!

Art was my first boss in the US, he was my first friend and he taught me all about American life. He drove me to Sam’s club every week and showed me the Adirondacks.
One day he said: Mila get in the skies and go outside. He didn’t let me back in until I learnt how to cross country ski. He was my family for the longest 4 months I was away from my country and family. Art was like a father to me and I will missed him for ever.

I met Art at Cascade as our daughter, Sam's, employer and friend. He gave Sam and her partner, Ian, the best introduction to the locals as they made the North Country their home. He was a remarkable man who will live on in the hearts of so very many people forever. I'm sending my most heartfelt condolences.

For over 20 years I called Art every fall to reserve a bunk rooom for myself, my pharmacy college alumnus friends and our children. We loved sharing our annual stories around the bar with Art and the Cascade staff. Most of all we enjoyed skiing and singing around the full moon fire with friends we had not met yet to tunes like “The Weight” and “Bye Bye American Pie”. Rest in peace Art knowing that the great memories you facilitated have become part of our lives and will carry on forever!

Started as an employee at Cascade in 1983! Felt like family ever since! Enjoyed many awesome excursions, Montreal, epic ski throughs, 'beach' volleyball! It was so amazing to know such a generous man who knew how to treat people and enjoy life!

I will never forget yearly trips starting about 45 years ago to Cascade Ski Touring Center where a group of girls and sometimes couples would stay in the bunk rooms down stairs, enjoy the cozy fire and the deck upstairs. We loved the trails, especially when lit up at night. Many times our group of young ladies would arrive late and Art would hang out with us at the bar til the wee hours! I remember getting behind the bar and doing a little bartending too! One time my little pick up truck slid right into the fence post in the parking lot upon anrrival late ant night and put a hole through my radiator. We were “stuck” there for a week with no vehicle. Art stepped up and let us stay and got us rides in and out of town a few times. Always a great time. Art was a great guy and will be missed by many! Condolences to the family.
