Dear Sallie & family,
I was so sad to read of Andy's passing in our local newspaper (Delmar) this week. My children, Jeremy, Frieda & Raffi & I, had the pleasure of having you & Andy as neighbors in Delmar, as my children warmly referred to Andy as "Mr. Joachim" with great fondness & many a discussion from modern-day teens to wildlife curiosities. I am so glad that Jeremy & I had the opportunity to see you & Andy last summer at the Goeldner's wedding in Albany....very grateful.
"Mr Joachim" really touched our lives for the better & will be missed.
Some of my friends here in town who had Andy as a science teacher at BCHS, also expressed their sadness of this loss, & fondness of him as their teacher.
Our hearts are with you.
