Obituary of Richard J. Fosher

Richard Joseph Fosher, Age 70 of (King's Bay), Champlain, NY passed peacefully on September 8, 2013 after a battle with cancer.
Dick was born October 18th, 1942 in Buffalo, NY to Abram and Cecile (Anctil) Fosher.
He grew up in Rouses Point, NY and graduated from St. Mary's Academy.
He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy joining in 1961 with three tours in the Mediterranean and participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He married his long time sweetheart Therese (Bechard) Fosher and raised their family in Colchester, VT.
He was employed with IBM in Essex Junction, VT for 30 years. He enjoyed working for Thrifty Car Rental and Riley Ford after his retirement. For the past several years, Dick has enjoyed spending his winters in Ft. Myers, FL.
He was an avid motorsports fan and was proud to have owned and restored a 1955 Ford Sunliner which won many best of show awards in local car shows.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Therese Fosher and three children, Lisa McNaney and her husband, Jeff; Daniel Fosher; Katie Lucas and her husband, Carl.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Tyler, Trevor and Sawyer McNaney, Victoria and Tanner Fosher, Grace and Tess Lucas. Dick was very proud to be their special Papa.
He leaves behind a brother Robert Fosher and his wife, Maria, of Brockport, NY, a sister Cecelia Armstrong and her husband, Richard, of Waltham, VT and a brother John Fosher and his wife, Linda, of Rouses Point, NY who have been very supportive during this difficult time.
He also leaves behind many other family members who will sorely miss him.
Along with family, Dick had many friends who were close and active in his every day life especially Al, Carol and Bobby.
He was predeceased by his parents Abram and Cecile (Anctil) Fosher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 13, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church, Mason Road, Coopersville, NY with Rev. Clyde A. Lewis, pastor, celebrating the mass. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
