Obituary of Elizabeth M. Jackson

Elizabeth (Lib) M. Jackson, age 99, of Oneida St., Lake Placid, NY, a lifelong resident, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at her home in Lake Placid. Mrs. Jackson was born June 5, 1914 in Lake Placid, NY the daughter of Homer Musgrove and Kate (Washburn) Musgrove. Her family was one of the early settlers in Lake Placid. She was a graduate of Lake Placid High School, Class of 1932 and of Mildred Elley Business College, Class of 1934. On June 27, 1942 she was married at St. John's Methodist Church in Chicago to Arthur W. Jackson, of Boonville, NY, a former Industrial Arts teacher at the Lake Placid, High School, who died on December 28, 1991. She was a legal secretary for many years and, prior to her retirement in 1981, she was employed by the former Supreme Court Justice Harold R. Soden for the State of New York. Lib was a member of the Adirondack Community Church, Craig Wood Golf and Country Club, the Garden Club of Lake Placid, and the Saranac Lake Woman's Bowling Association. Lib enjoyed and loved the many dog companions she had over the years, and they were an important part of her life. She enjoyed and appreciated the beauty of her home town. Her close friends will remember her for her love of the color blue which was always a part of her surroundings. She is survived by one niece. Eleanor M. Wells of Lake Placid, NY and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours and services will be held at the convenience of the family. The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
