Obituary of Linda Adil

LAKE PLACID - Linda Leahy Adil, 71, of Lake Placid, passed away peacefully Sept 26, 2013 at her home on Mirror Lake Drive. Mrs. Adil was born in Albany, NY on Sept 17, 1942, the daughter of Dr. Hugh and Jessie Leahy. Linda was married in 1963 to Philip A. Adil of New Haven, CT in St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy (Kenwood) in Albany, NY and Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. She tutored students for SAT's, GMAT's, LSAT's and in mathematics as well as many other subjects in Englewood, NJ and Lake Placid. She enjoyed working with students from Dwight Englewood and Northwood School, where her husband, Phil was the Director of College Guidance. She was an American Contract Bridge League Life Master. Linda and her husband, Phil, were members of the Knickerbocker Country Club in Tenafly, NJ and the Lake Placid Club. Mrs. Adil is survived by her son, Philip A. Adil Jr., his wife Charlotte and their son Philip A. Adil III of Marinwood, CA; sisters, Jessica Leahy of Cambridge, MA; Gloria Murray of Greenville, SC; Cynthia Galla of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and a brother Hugh F. Leahy III of Lake Wales, FL. Interment at the North Elba Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. The Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate. Friends may make donations in Linda's memory to the charity of one's choice. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.
