Obituary of Elizabeth V. Nugent

Elizabeth V. "Bess" Nugent, age 100, of Lake Placid, NY died Saturday, September 28, 2013 at AMC-Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid, NY. Mrs. Nugent was born May 28, 1913 in Lake Placid, NY the daughter of Thomas W. and Margaret E. (Ryan) Collins. She was the wife of Theodore Nugent, who predeceased her April 17,1995. She had worked for several years as bookkeeper at Barry & Wilson Printing, Lake Placid, NY, she was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 326, Lake Placid, NY, a member of Saint Agnes Church Altar Society and a dedicated volunteer at St. Agnes Church. . Bess is survived by four nieces, Maureen Kean, Peg Arnold, Jean Chenoweth and Ann Moorehead; two nephews, Larry Barry and Tom Lee and several great nieces and great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Margaret Ryan; her husband, Theodore; six sisters, Mildred Enderle, Anna LaGoy, Jo Trainer, Veronica Lee, Mary Rollier and Florence Barry; and two brothers, Lawrence Collins and James Collins. Calling hours will be held Friday, October 4th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 5th at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Lake Placid, NY. Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Agnes Heritage Fund or AMC-Uihlein Mercy Center in her memory.
