Obituary of Kimball Weston Daby

Kimball Weston Daby, of McKinley Street, Lake Placid, passed away at his home on October 31, 2013at the age of 66. Kimball was born on February 5, 1947, the son of Francis A. Daby and Rosetta Marion (Kimball) Daby.
Kimball graduated from Lake Placid High School in 1965 and dreamed of a career in politics. In fulfillment of that dream, he was active in the North Elba Republican Committee, serving as its Chairman on several occasions, and he served as Chairman of the Board of Assessors for the Town of North Elba for over 35 years. He enjoyed his job immensely and took great pride in being able to help the residents of the Town of North Elba.
Outside of work he enjoyed spending time at his camp on Cameras Pond, playing with his dogs and reading newspapers. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting with friends at Camp Avery. Kim also enjoyed reading and learning the law with his good friend Jim Brooks.
Mr. Daby was a longtime loyal member of the Lake Placid Lions Club, serving as the Club's President for four years. Kimball was also an active member of the Adirondack Community Church.
Kimball is survived by his wife Patricia Daby; two sons Mark Daby and Kimball F. Daby; a daughter-in-law Heidi Daby; and his very special granddaughter Maeve Daby, all of Lake Placid. He is also survived by two nephews: Gary Daby (and his wife Emily) of Bloomingdale and Fran Daby (and his wife Julia) of Lake Placid; two great nephews: Eben Daby of Lake Placid and Gary Daby, III of Bloomingdale and a great niece Annabelle Corwin Gray of Lake Placid. He was predeceased by his mother, father and just last month his beloved brother, Gary Daby.
There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at the Adirondack Community Church, Lake Placid on Friday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. The M.B. Clark Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to North Country Life Flight, High Peaks Hospice and St. Peters Hospital Foundation "Becky's House", 319 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, New York 12214-8047. The family also thanks Father O'Reilly for all of his prayers over the years.
