Rouses Point Harold T. "Curley" LaBombard, 82, of 76 Smith Street, Rouses Point, went to join his beloved wife Shirley, who he missed immensely, on Monday, November 18, 2013. He was born in Rouses Point on December 5, 1930 son of the late Clarence and Mabel (Chenevert) LaBombard. Harold served his country in the 45th Armor Infantry Battalion during the Korean War from 1951-1953, with the US Army as a Staff Sergeant. He earned several medals for his service. Harold's greatest passion was for his beloved wife Shirley, his four children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His loving family includes his four children: Darlene and Richard Strack of Morrisonville, Jeffery LaBombard and girlfriend Claude Seguin of Chazy, Heather and Gary Morrison of Champlain, and Shawn "Curley" and Marcy LaBombard of Rouses Point, his six grandchildren: Aubrey Rougier, Whitney Lawrence, Steven Strack, Dakota Morrison, Bailey LaBombard and James LaBombard, and his great-grandchildren: Shane and Azlynn Frederick, and Jayden and Davian Lawrence. He is also survived by three sisters, and five brothers including one brother in particular, Marvin, his loving caregiver who held a special place in Harold's heart. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, and infant son, Galen Virgil LaBombard and three brothers, Clarence, Jr., Robert and Daniel LaBombard. Harold worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the General Services Administration with US Customs and Border Protection for 39 years. In addition to this he worked numerous other jobs to provide for his family which included landscaping, being a handyman for the community, bartending, driving tractor trailer and working for the D&H Railroad. He loved to talk about the trains, as, the railroad ran through his blood. Harold was an avid contributor to the Catholic church. His life was more about giving to others than to himself. He was fondly recognized by his family as Dad, Papa, Grandpa and Cookie Man Papa and he will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. Calling Hours were private for family members. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 5th at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Rouses Point, NY, with full military honors. Arrangements are in the care of M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 148 Lake Street, Rouses Point, NY. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Sunday December 15th at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point for both Curley & Shirley. Memorial contributions in Harold's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to a Veteran's Memorial of one's choice.
