Obituary of Terry Lee Lashway

Champlain Terry Lee Lashway, 53, of the Ridge Road, returned quietly into the arms of our lord on Friday, January 24, 2014 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY July 21, 1960, son of the late Gerald and Veronica Lashway. Terry worked for Sample's Lawn and Garden in Chazy for the last 24 years and LaCasse, BNI Office Furniture in Plattsburgh 8 years prior to that. Terry's passion was being surrounded by his family and friends. In earlier years, fishing brought Terry a great source of comfort. His admiration of wildlife was evident with a vast collection in addition to his NASCAR memorabilia and Redskins momentos. Terry will be remembered as kind and gentle, and as a loving father, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his children, Tyler and Tara Lashway of Champlain, brother Arnold Lashway and his fiance Robin West of Plattsburgh, sister Julie Rigsbee and husband Mark of Champlain, sister Christine McMillan and husband Steven of Champlain and brother Neil Lashway of Rouses Point. Several nieces and nephews also survive including Michael Lashway of Ellenburg, Nicholas Lashway of Lyon Mountain, Jason and Gloria Rigsbee of Pooler, GA, Brandon and Nicole LaRock of Lakeland, FL, Cheyenne Lashway of Rouses Point, Austin LaFromboise of Shelburne, VT, and Billy, Danielle and Courtney West of Plattsburgh. Three "brothers of the heart" also survive, Randy LaCount of Mooers, Lonny LaCount of Rouses Point and Neil LaCount of Champlain. Terry was predeceased by his parents, Gerald Lashway and Veronica (Brunell) Lashway of Sciota. Calling Hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 28, at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 29, at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church St., Champlain, NY with Rev. Clyde A. Lewis, pastor, celebrating the mass. Interment will be at a later date. Donations in Terry's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
