Champlain - Helene A. Guay, 97, of 557 Rapids Road passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 1, 1916 in St. Bernard de Lacolle, P.Q., daughter of the late Iva and Yvonne Guay. Helene was an exceptional cook and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be fondly remembered by her large family and many friends. She is survived by her sons Iva (Therese) Guay, Michael (Helen) Guay, Vincent (Kathy) Guay, Francis Guay and Gerald Guay and her daughters, Angele Laurin, Rosalie (Felix) Tetreault, Cecile Hanfield, Veronica Belvel, Marielle Miller and Julie Baker. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Helene was predeceased by her husband Emile Guay, her daughter, Jeannette Beeman, her sons David and Rolland and son in law Paul Laurin Calling hours will be held from 10:00 am to 1:30pm on Friday, February 7, 2014 at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the calling hours at 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church St., Champlain, NY 12919. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Mary's Church for masses in her memory.
