A beautifully written obituary for a wonderful man. Roland was a great friend to my father-in-law and a joy to know. His sense of humor and smile will be missed dearly. Our thoughts are with those he left behind.
Roland was a friend of my father(Frank Hoag) and they worked many years on the CN Railroad together. I had the pleasure of working with Roland at F.W. Myers for a few years. He was a great man and a mainstay of Rouses Point. He will be missed.
Roland was not only my Uncle but my Godfather too. I have wonderful memories of trips to Maine in the summer and many family dinners. We always had a birds eye view of the fireworks on the 4th of July! He was the best! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
As a proud member of the Greatest Generation, It is certainly apparent your entire life was conducted with that same integrity and pride, that has become less and less commen. It was an honor to have known you.. I'm certain GOD is happy to have you home.
