I am so sad to learn of Chris' passing. Also a fellow Fletcher School alumni, he was a mentor and inspiration to me in my early days at USAID Presidential Management Intern in 2000. Chris supervised one of my first assignments in the Europe & Eurasia Bureau as I took up the trade of Small & Medium Enterprise development in transition economies. We also kept in touch as I broadened my experience to the Former Soviet Union and Afghanistan. I really appreciated the time Chris spent with me as a new officer, and both he and Betsy's support when I decided to join USAID's foreign service. We lost contact when they retired from USAID but I always had a special place in my memory for Chris and Betsy. My thoughts are with you now during this difficult time.
