Obituary of Barbara Ann Wood

Barbara Ann Wood, age 56, of Lake Placid, NY passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at her home in Lake Placid. Mrs. Wood was born December 5, 1957 in Brockport, NY. She was the daughter of Lynn and Marilyn (Judd) Schleede. Barbara was a loving mother and she enjoyed spending time with her family. After becoming a cancer survivor in 1999 Barbara became a dedicated volunteer for Relay for Life and was a very active fundraiser. She was blessed with a green thumb and enjoyed growing plants and flowers. She is survived by her husband: David Wood of Lake Placid, NY; her mother, Marilyn (Judd) Schleede of Brockport, NY; one son, Jason Mach and Chelsea Mitchell of Boston, MA; three daughters, Erica Mach and her fiance Charles Rote of Gloversville, NY, Kristy White and her husband Kyle of Troy, NY and Megan White of Canajoharie, NY. She is also survived by two brothers, Terry Schleede and his wife Alison of No. Carolina and Brian Schleede and his wife Juliet of Conesus, NY; her twin sister, Brenda Wikander and her husband Michael of Chandler, AZ; two grandchildren, Arianna Christiano and Kaya Rote; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Lynn Schleede and one sister, Linda Hoffman. Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 21st from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. Rev. John Martin will officiate. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 22nd at 11:00am at M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home, 2310 Saranac Ave, Lake Placid, NY 12946. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid, NY.
