Obituary of Robert H. Favro

Champlain Robert Hoyle Favro, Sr., 82, of Meadow Lane, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY September 28, 1931 a son of the late Armand and Della (Hoyle) Favreau. Bob was a life resident of the area. Following high school, he served with the US ARMY during the Korean War from 1951-1954. Following his discharge from the ARMY, Bob resided in Champlain where he worked at A&P for many years. His loving family includes his wife JoAnne (Emery) Favro of Champlain, his children Deborah Favro and her husband Benoit Falcon of Quebec, Canada, Gary Favro and wife Shirley of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Robert Favro, Jr. of Plattsburgh, his grandchildren Benjamin Favro of Rouses Point, Kristie Favro Nordin of Germany, Jessica Favro of Plattsburgh and Jennifer Favro of Plattsburgh, his great-grandchildren Abigail Favro of Rouses Point, Maxwell Favro of Rouses Point and Grady Nordin of Germany, one sister Janice Leaverton and husband Stewart of Katy, TX, and one brother, John Favreau and his wife Carol of Champlain. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Tatro. There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church St., Champlain, NY with Rev. Clyde A. Lewis, pastor, celebrating the mass. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery on Prospect Street. Family and friends are invited to gather for continued fellowship at the Knights of Columbus Council #3525, Champlain immediately following committal prayers. Arrangements are in the care of M.B.
