Obituary of Gary James Burgoyne

Champlain Gary James Burgoyne, Sr., 57, of Route 9B, Champlain, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family, following a short battle with cancer. He was born June 23, 1957 son of Lucille (LeDuc) Burgoyne and the late Maurice Burgoyne. Gary graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School in 1976 and then joined the US NAVY where he served for 4 years. Following his Naval service, Gary returned to North Lawrence before relocating to Rouses Point, NY where he was employed with Harris Graphics as a machinist. He married Crystal Ormsbee and had three sons. He was then employed with Wyeth-Ayrest Labs in Rouses Point before his illness forced him into early retirement. Gary loved to hunt and fish with his brother, Ron, and his three sons. He also loved his dog, Amber, and being outdoors in his garden. Gary was an active member of the American Legion Post #912 Rouses Point for many years. His loving family includes his wife Ronda Martin, whom he married in 2009, his mother Lucille Burgoyne, his sons Gary Burgoyne, Jr. and Loren Burgoyne, step-son Jesse Martin, one brother Ron and two sisters Linda and Eileen. Several grandchildren whom he loved dearly, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law also survive. In addition to his father, Gary was predeceased by his brother, Bob, his sister, Sally and his youngest son, Mark. At Gary's request there will be no Calling Hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at St. Patrick's Church, Lake Street, Rouses Point, NY. A burial at sea will take place at a later date. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family immediately following the mass at the American Legion Post #912, Pratt St., Rouses Point for a luncheon. Arrangements are in the care of M.B.
