Champlain James J "Pete" Gooley, 87, formerly of Champlain, died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh following a long illness. He was born January 8, 1927 at his home in Champlain NY, a son of the late Arthur and Pearl (Seymour) Gooley. His loving family includes his four sons: George and Loretta Goooley, Kevin and Nancy Gooley, Steven Gooley and Greg and Teresa Gooley, two daughters; Lisa Peachey and husband Bill and Karen Manor and husband Keith, and two sisters Lillian Knowles and Joyce Ondras and husband Rudy. Thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his wife, Stella "Theresa" LaValley, his son Christopher Gooley and his brother Orville Mesec. Calling Hours will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, October 20, 2014 at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, NY. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm on Monday at St. Amadeus Cemetery in Alburgh, VT. Arrangements are in the care of M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.
