Obituary of Imogene Mae Bryant

Imogene Mae Baldwin Bryant (Jean), age 91, passed away peacefully at Merriman House in North Conway, New Hampshire, on November 7th, 2014. Imogene was a resident at Merriman House for the past two years.
Born September 18, 1923 in Glens Falls, New York, the daughter of Wade and Maude Barney Baldwin, she moved to Lake Placid, New York in 1944 to work at the Lake Placid Club. Imogene also worked at Little Joe's Restaurant, the Golden Arrow, was the baker at the Mirror Lake Inn and retired from the Uihlien Mercy Center. It was while waitressing at Little Joe's Restaurant that she met and fell in love with Thaire Bryant, just home from the Sea Bees and the South Pacific.
She was an active member of St. Eustace Church and the Lake Placid Senior Center where she served as secretary. While living at the Greenwood apartments she was a floor representative.
Jean was an avid reader, loved singing and performed in plays at the Lake Placid Performing Arts Center. Baking was her vocation and her avocation. She loved to cook but her specialty was dessert and she always ate it first.
Survivors include her sons, Thaire B. and his wife Deborah of Eaton Center, New Hampshire, and Raymond and his wife Valerie of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Grandchildren Krista and her husband Dr. Edward Ryan of Wellesley, Massachusetts, Sarah Bryant Chamberlain of Midlothian, Virginia, and Joshua Bryant and his wife Lisa of Sandy, Utah. In addition there are eleven great grandchildren: Hana, Grace and Edward of Wellesley, Massachusetts, Zachary, Noah, Maxwell and Elijah of Midlothian, Virginia and Maya, Echo, Tyne and Calum of Sandy, Utah. Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Thaire Bryant.
A funeral service will be held at St Eustace Episcopal Church in Lake Placid, New York at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 15. Rev. David Ousley will officiate. Following the memorial the family will have a private internment service and a reception at a location to be announced.
The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Merriman House at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH.
