Champlain Norma J. Surprenant, 84, formerly of Ridge Road, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born June 10, 1930, daughter of the late Henry and Ann (Gamache) Monette. Norma was a lifetime resident of Champlain and was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy. She retired from Anchor Motor Freight in Champlain following many years of service to the company as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk. Her loving family includes her son Rick Coupal of Malone, a niece, Janice Shouse and husband, William of Plattsburgh, a nephew Matthew Favreau and wife Kerry of Rouses Point, and her step-children Marlene, Peter, Donald, and Lisa. She is also survived by cousins and many special friends. In addition to her parents, Norma was predeceased by her husband Guy Surprenant, step-son Jacques, a sister Anita Morehouse and husband Carl J. and many aunts, uncles and cousins. At Norma's request, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of her family. Entombment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot.
