Obituary of Beatrice V. Castine

Champlain Beatrice V. Castine, 91, of Route 9, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly, Monday, January 5, 2015 at her home. She was born in Chazy, NY January 17, 1923, daughter of the late Herbert and Josephine (Murray) Deso. Beatrice was a life resident of the area. During the 1940's she worked for Champlain Laundry in Champlain. In the decades that followed, Beatrice worked for S.S. Kresge in Plattsburgh and for Border Drive-In Theater in Chazy. Beatrice enjoyed cooking dinners for the family, visiting with old friends, playing cards, and taking trips to Myrtle Beach in the fall. Her loving family includes her son, Nelson Matott and his wife, Beverly of Rouses Point. Several loving nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Francis Castine who died in June of 2006, her first husband Dawson Matott who died in May of 1977, her sisters Maude Deso, Lillian Arruda, Minnie LeFebvre, and Rita Abare, and her brothers Richard Deso, John Deso, Herbert Deso and Joseph Deso. At Beatrice's request there will be no publice visitation or funeral services. Interment will be private and at a later date in Riverview Cemetery, Chazy, NY.
