My brother and I are so sorry we did not hear until now that George passed away in January. He was a very important person in my dad's life. Dad spoke so highly of George and most of my Dad's favorite memories involved he and my dad.
George was a lovely man who was very gracious and kind. I was so excited and happy he was able to come to my wedding in Colorado. He had a larger then life personality that gave much to all who knew him.
Sincerely
Lisa and Scott Ferguson. (Jim Ferguson's children)

I worked for George at the Vespa in '78. He was warm and funny and it was a great family place with a lot of fun and energy. My condolences to his entire family.

As a young ski racer growing up one of my favorite places to go while in Lake Placid was Villa Vespa. I will always remember George coming out from the kitchen to say hello, tell a story and see how the race went. I loved how the whole family was involved. As an adult I continued to love going to Villas Vespa and Peter and I shared a great number of wonderful meals cooked by George and his family. I'm hoping he is making Peter a Villa Vespa meal in Heaven!!

Working at Villa Vespa as a Waitress. Feared the dining room more than the kitchen; simply because George always had a smile...:) my sympathies to a beautiful family. xo

My heart goes out to Marlene, Kimmy, Lisa & Steve, Alethea & Bart, Emma, Timothy, Nicholas & Connor. Having George, and all the Vespas as part of my life is a joy and an honor. I so appreciate all the fun, love, support and amazing meals we have shared.
George, when Kimmy and I were in college I thought we might lose you to your heart attack but you fought back, lived decades longer and showed us all your great love of life which is to be admired and celebrated. Seeing you go from a job you loved at the Marcy to making a dream come true with the Villa was inspirational.
Thanks to the Vespa family for embracing me through my own good and tough times. My love, thoughts and prayers are with you now. Know that I would do anything I can do to share the pain you are going though.
With love,
Ann Leslie

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when my dad would do the refrigeration repairs for George he would always send home a loaf of home made bread. I used to wish the restaurant would have a breakdown so we could have that wonderful bread. A very good man has left this world.
