Obituary of Sheila Jean Wasson

Sheila Jean Wasson, age 77, of Lake Placid died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Adirondack Medical Center of Saranac Lake, NY. Mrs. Wasson was born April 7, 1937 in Lake Placid, NY. She is the daughter of the late Walter and Eileen (Farley) Morrison. She married James A. Wasson, Sr. on October 19, 1963 at St. Agnes Church. Sheila had worked for New York Telephone as an operator before devoting her time to raising her family. In the years prior to radio dispatch and paging service Sheila was a dedicated calling tree girl for the Lake Placid Vol. Fire Department, notifying the firemen of the location of the fire by telephone. She is survived by her husband: James A.Wasson, Sr.; one daughter, Katherine Osgood and her husband Randy of Lake Placid, NY and one son: James A. Wasson, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Lake Placid, NY; She also has three grandchildren, her granddaughter, Rebekah Wasson, her granddaughter, Nicole Osgood and her grandson, Nicholas Osgood. She is survived by her sister-in-laws Sandy Morrison and Maryanne Williamson and Sue Rock. She is also survived by her pet dogs Ryder aka Pot Roast and Ella. As well as several nieces, nephews cousins, and an aunt. Sheila was predeceased by her parents Walter and Eileen Morrison; one brother, William Morrison; two sisters, Patricia Culleton and Sandy Smith; her niece, Shelly Fredericks and by a special aunt and uncle, Katherine Morrison and Victor Lefevre and by her uncle Joe Morrison. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 24 from 5 PM to 8 PM at M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home, Lake Placid, NY with prayers offered at 7:45 PM by the Lake Placid Vol. Fire Department. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 25th at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, Saranac Ave., Lake Placid, NY with Father John Yonkovig officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in May. The family suggests donations in memory of Sheila be directed to the charity of your choice.
