Obituary of Walter Lee Haselton

Walter Lee Haselton, age 79, of Lake Placid died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his home in Lake Placid. Mr. Haselton was born January 31, 1936 in Wilmington, NY the son of Willard and Laura (Lawrence) Haselton. Walter served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He retired from the Metropolitan School System, Nashville, TN where he worked as School Bus Dispatcher. Walter was an active member of St. Eustace Episcopal Church in Lake Placid, NY, he was a talented musician and could play any instrument and was extremely talented on the brass, playing for the Paradise Shriners in Nashville, TN where he held membership. He was a 35 year member of the Masonic Lodge, serving the last ten in Lake Placid, NY. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Lacey) Haselton of Lake Placid, NY; one daughter, Felicia Hardcastle of Antioch, TN; one son, Eric Jones of Detroit, MI; four brothers, Frank Haselton of Sandston, VA, Timothy Haselton and his wife Liya of Scottsdale, AZ, Charles Haselton and his wife Erma of Vero Beach, FL and Stephen Haselton and his wife Debbie of Florence AL; two sisters, Shirley Kraus and her husband George of Scranton, PA and Esther Eppler of Olathe, KS. He is also survived by Denise, Leon and Shawn Fredericks and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held at St. Eustace Episcopal Church on Monday, March 30th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Masonic Prayer Service at 6:45 PM. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 31st at 10:00 AM at St. Eustace Episcopal Church with burial to follow in Haselton Cemetery, Wilmington, NY. Very Rev. David K. Ousley will officiate. The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
