Obituary of Leland F. Stanton

Leland F. Stanton, Sr., 89, of Cascade Road, Lake Placid, NY passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY. Mr. Stanton was born July 23, 1926 in Lake Placid, NY. He was the son of the late Francis and the late Mabel (Hickok) Stanton. He was the husband of Barbara Jean (Watson) Stanton. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara on December 17, 2011. Mr. Stanton was a World War II Veteran, serving his country in the Army Air Corps. He was employed by Town Of North Elba as a(n) Heavy Equipment Operator and mechanic. He is survived by ten children, Wesley Stanton and his wife Tammy of Lake Placid, NY, Terry Darrah and her husband Cliff of Bloomingdale, NY, Linda Hudson and her husband Wayne of Keene Valley, NY, Deborah Stanton of Lake Placid, NY, Leland "Lee" Stanton Jr. and his wife Patricia of Lake Placid, NY, Tracy Colby and her husband James of Lake Placid, NY, Jimmy Stanton of Buffalo, NY, Joel Stanton of Lake Placid, NY, William Stanton and his wife Mary of Lake Placid, NY and Rachel Stanton of Lake Placid, NY. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Eugene and Eddie Stanton died earlier. There are no public calling hours. Funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate. The American Legion, Post 326 Lake Placid, NY will offer a prayer service and military honors. Burial will be in North Elba Cemetery, Lake Placid, NY. The M.B. Clark, Inc.
