Dear CLARK,It s way too long that I saw and heard from you.Your Dutch buddy from Amsterdam, who had so many wonderfull ewtvesnith you and such a wonderful time with you , tried to call you, connect with you when I was in the States every year but unfortunatedly without any succes. When Robert Philipssom called me and when I spoke with himat some concerts, he gave me your address and email address and phone nr but whatever I tried,( telephone-email ) I could not get in touch with you what my heart broke, because we always were and always will be so close with each other. You have done so much for me when I started the Jazz Inn Party's in Noordwijk in Holland, about which Party's evrybody still talks as one of the big institutes in Jazz because of the style, music, friendships ,but most of all the PEOPLE, and YOU were one of the most beloved ones of them all.Later you came over to my DRUM Jazz festivals in Amsterdam where you played in all the beautifull Hotels and the main stages of Amsterdam as the middle point of all your musicall friends.Later you played in enough concerts tah I organized and where i NEVER got any negative answer from you And after that I remembered the unforgettable evenings in Bern,in the South of France where we dinnered at the beach after the concerts in Juan-les_Pins and the wonderful time I always spent with you in New York during my NY trips where we saw each other all the years that I was there, at your house, with all the nice dinners and lunches we had together ..I asked many times about your weak health yo all your friends when I saw them like Dee Dee Bridgewater, Cedar Walton,Jimmy Heath, Lewis Nash.John Clayton, Jeff Hamilton, Randy Brecker, and last time to Lew Soloff and the late Hank Jones ,and Benny Powell ,Slide Hampton etc ..ans I always asked to greet you with all my heart, as you have been so important as a human being and so nice in helping me with the artists like Sassy,J J Johnson, Oscar Peterson etc .it is all too much too recall. My dearest Clark, I wish you from the bottom of my heart, many many good and especially healthy years to come with your lovely Gwenn and please send me your direct email address so that I can send you some nice pictures from us in Amsterdam.Have a wonderfull birthday and stay alive for another 90 years!!!!!!!!Your friend for everHans LoonstijnAmsterdam

To the Barney family, especially Larry and Gary, (who are closer to me in age)but I want to include the whole family. We both were so sad to hear of Maudie's passing. I (Patti) have memories of Maude always being around at hockey games, raising the dickens. When I was in the hospital for a whole month in 1973, she and Louise Kilburn were my moms. I looked so forward to them coming in on shift to take care of me and keep me laughing! Dick loved her humor, and knows where Gary gets his humor from. God bless you folks, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

The summer I was 12 I used to walk from my house on Balsam Street to the hospital at 10:30 at night to go with my mom (Judy), Maude, Millie, Wendy and a couple of others up to McDonalds for coffee after work. I can remember Maudie's voice like it was yesterday. To the whole Barney family you all have my deepest sympathy and please know I am holding you in my thoughts.

Maudie was one great lady! She was loved by many and will be missed. I worked with Maudie for many years at AMC & Placid Memorial. She always had a smile to greet you and a hug,and always asked how you and your family were. She was always willing to help lend a hand or help find a solution. I am sure she is watching over all of us. Keep your memories close to your heart they will comfort you.

To Maude's family-In this time of sadness may you see God in the faces of friends, hear Him on their voices, feel Him in the touch of their hands. May their help caring & sympathy reflect His live & kindness at this time when you all need Him most. With loving thoughts, Merrill & Gail Helms
So sorry to hear Maude has passed away I talked with her about a year ago & we had a great visit in fact she was still working & loved it. We have known Maudie for over 50 years and treasure her friendship. Maude & I took the first aid class together that started her career many years ago. Treasure the good memories & look forward to meeting her again one day.
