Obituary of Ruth Walton

Ruth Walton, age 82, of Station Street, Lake Placid, NY passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at her home in Lake Placid. Mrs. Walton was born January 12, 1930 in Lake Placid, NY. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Lee Whittemore and the late Fannie (Southmayd) Whittemore. She had worked in Lake Placid at the Placid Memorial Hospital and for Dr. Bergamini as a medical secretary. She married Forrest Walton January 10, 1948 at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid, NY. She is survived by her husband: Forrest Walton of Lake Placid, NY; three sons, David Walton and his wife Annette of Lake Placid, NY, Donald Walton and his wife Dea of Keeseville, NY, Scott Walton and his wife Ellen of Lake Placid, NY: three daughters, Wendy Williams and her husband Burt of No. Carolina, Michele Lacey and her husband Kent of Lake Placid, NY, and Cindy Rock of No. Carolina. She is also survived by two brothers, Donald Whittemore of Lake Placid, NY and Gary Whittemore of Lake Placid, NY; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Jean Gray and 3 grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 15th form 5 PM to 8 PM at the M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 16th at 10:00 AM at the M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home, 2310 Saranac Ave, Lake Placid, NY 12946. Rev. John Martin, Pastor of Adirondack Community Church will officiate. Burial will follow in North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid. A reception will be held following the burial at the American Legion, Post 326, Lake Placid.
