Obituary of Johanna L. Brewster

Johanna L. Brewster, age 88, "Beloved Daughter of our Living God" of Lake Clear, NY and formerly a resident of the Greenwood Apartments, Greenwood St., Lake Placid, NY passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY. Mrs. Brewster was born February 11, 1928 in Lake Placid, NY. She is the daughter of the late Charles D. and the late Belle (Johnson) Gallo. She was married to John Brewster Mr. Brewster passed away in 2003. Johanna attended Lake Placid High School and she had worked at the Little Restaurant, Lake Placid, NY and for a short time at AMA in Saranac Lake, NY, She was a former member of St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid, NY, loved planting flowers, bowling, sewing and knitting and her favorite time of year was Christmas. She enjoyed decorating for all of the holidays but Christmas was her favorite. Her house looked like the North Pole at Christmas and she was recognized for her decorations when she lived at the Greenwood Apartments. She is survived by two sons, William Baily of Saranac Lake, NY and Terry Baily and his wife Diane of Lake Clear, NY; two daughters, Barbara Faulkner and her husband Richard of Saranac Lake, NY and Cindy Lanthier and her husband Chad of Lake Clear, NY and one step-daughter, Deborah Bowersock of FL. There were also Nine grandchildren, Kathy Ann, Walter, Carrie Leigh, Jeffrey, Lauren, Scott, Cherise, Chenelle, Kori and Eleven great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Saturday, June 25th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 25th at M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home, 2310 Saranac Ave., Lake Placid, NY burial will follow in North Elba Cemetery, Lake Placid, NY. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Saranac Lake Vol. Fire Department in memory of Johanna Brewster.
